Scholarship Program
For a deserving student, economic difficulty should not be a reason to be deprived of an education. Prerana is centered around this very belief. Through our scholarship program we provide financial-aid to bright students from underprivileged backgrounds, from PUC 1st year up-to college/professional degree.
Selection criteria
The students need to have scored above a cut-off percentage in their exams at Class X and Class XII levels. Also the yearly earnings of the family, the living conditions and liabilities are taken into account.
Selection process
Prerana follows a 3 step process for selecting the deserving students. First a Nurture Merit Test (NMT) is conducted. The test is based on basic arithmetic, reasoning, general knowledge and language skills. . Selected candidates from the test are taken through a round of interview by Prerana to understand their aspiration, potential, motivation and their economic condition. Finally Prerana conducts house visits for each shortlisted student to ascertain their living conditions..

Scholarship disbursement and orientation
For the finally selected candidates the scholarships are disbursed during an orientation program conducted by Prerana along with the sponsoring organization. During the orientation the students are made aware of the terms of scholarship and the rules and guidelines they need to adhere to. They are also told about the training and interactions that Prerana conducts on a regular basis and the importance of their active participation.
Monitoring and Mentoring
Prerana continues to monitor the progress of the students via regular interactions and periodic trainings. Students are expected to write a monthly letter to Prerana in which they share their thoughts and also infoming about their progress and any difficulties they face.
